Many people think of a holiday in Majorca as one long party and life in the fast lane, however there is another side to this beautiful island and the possibility of a different kind of holiday in Majorca. If you love nature, beauty, art, architecture, history, ambiance, good food and a slow pace of life in your holiday - all you have to do is to drive out of Palma, when you arrive on the ferry, and head west... to Valldemossa. (See the map further down).

Valldemossa, famous for its healthy mountain air and breathtaking views and lots of opportunity for hikers and walkers, is placed 425m above sea level, on the west coast of Majorca in the Tramontana mountain range. The charming town has only approximately 2.000 citizens plus a various amount of tourists, depending on the time of year. If you have an artistic vein in your body, everything here will talk to you and inspire you - from the local traditional bakery, the Carthusian Monastery, the green shutters against the stonehouses to the gorgeous views to the sea and the mountains. This pictureque town will seduce you with its narrow, cobblestone streets, cafes, galleries, gift shops and eateries.
